The Mischievous Max books, came about when myself and a friend; Jo Lindsay, who lives in the same village discovered that we both shared the same ambition to write and illustrate a children's book. So together we hatched a plan which resulted in Mischievous Max and the Wizard's Ring, which was then followed two years later by Mischievous Max's Sticky Problem.
Jo, a retired teacher, specialising in Dyslexia, wrote the words . In each book she has put in a repetative rhyme, which flows through the stories and is easy for a child to soon join in.
Meanwhile I was working on the illustrations. I wanted to create colourful and strong images, which held the interest of the child and parent alike. They are a mixture of printmaking, pen and ink and watercolour , which are then scanned into the computor and manipulated to generate the finished pages.
Both books were printed by Quorum Printers of Cheltenham, who printed them with the four colour litho process.
The result is a charming mixed media children's book, printed in superb colour, which is fun to read, excitig to look at and will enthrall many young children aged 2-6 years old.
Each book is £5.00 each + P&P
